Detroit, Michigan - Gary Dean Allen of Melvindale and Cheboygan, Michigan, unexpectedly passed away on November 30, 2011. Lovingly remembered by his wife Sharon. Remarkable father of Laurie Ann, Casey Dean, and Goldie Lynn. Dear son of Glen and Mary Allen. Gary proudly worked for the Norfolk Southern Railroad his entire career. Osseo, Michigan - Edward G. Chapin, Sr., 61, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Arrangements by Thompson Funeral Home, Pioneer, Ohio.  Mr. Chapin worked as a Carman for Norfolk Southern for 40 years. He took pride in the fact that he worked his entire career injury-free. He retired in September 2009.

Fairview, NC – Mrs. Dorothy Emmaline Jones Wright, 90, of 7 Covey Lane Fairview, NC died peacefully Monday, May 9, 2011 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born March 25, 1921 in Hendersonville, NC and lived in Fairview most of her life, she was the daughter of the late John Jack Jones and Carrie Elizabeth Fox Jones and the wife of the late Rev. Paul N. Wright. She was of the Baptist faith and a past member for many years of Cedar Mountain Baptist Church. The love of her life was her Children and Grandchildren. She was a wonderful, caring, loving, self-sacrificing mother and loved her home, her flowers and hard work.

Mrs. Wright leaves to cherish fond memories of one son, Jack H. Wright and Barbara of Spartanburg, SC; two daughters, Shirley Taylor & Roy of Mills River, NC and Pat Vess & Jerry of Swannanoa, NC. She was predeceased by a son, Daniel P. Wright and two sisters, Lucy Taylor and Ruth Patton; two brothers, Richard and Allan Jones. She has eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Anders-Rice Funeral Home from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. in Asheville, NC and graveside services will be held at the Cane Creek Cemetery on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. by the Rev. Steve Rayburn and Rev. Richard Baird.

Pallbearers will be Tony Wright, Bill Taylor, Eric Taylor, Bryan Vess, Stacy Stone, Justin Stone, Jordan Stone, Dylan Wright and Harley (Butch) Wright.





Corryton, Ten. -- LAKIN, CALEB O. "BUTCH" - age 69 of Corryton, went home to be with Jesus March 26, 2010. Member of Fairview Baptist Church. Retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad with over 20 years of service. Preceded in death by parents, George and Estella Lakin; two sisters and one brother; special nephew and "buddy", Lance Justin Davis. Survived by faithful wife of 42 years, Judy Lakin and beloved daughter, Alicia Lakin; brothers and spouses, Clyde and Aileen Lakin, Chester and Monnie Lakin, Carlos and Betty Lakin; brothers-in-law, Jack Davis, Roger and Chere Davis and special niece, Nichole Bass; special nephews, Carl, Mike and Mark Lakin; special cousin, Jim Merriman; and a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday at 8 pm at Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Bryan Wright and Rev. Clyde Lakin officiating. Family and friends will meet Tuesday at 10:45 am at Lynnhurst Cemetery for interment at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Heart Association . WASHINGTON, Ind. — Hallie Corn, 100, died March 16, 2010, at Washington Nursing Center. She had worked at UNI Royal Manufacturing and was a member of First Christian Church.

Surviving are daughter, Gwynavere Morton; son, Donald; stepson, Richard Dear; sister, Joyce Vowell; brother, Elwood Vowell; 11 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Gill Chapel, burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, with an Eastern star service at 3:30 p.m., and 9:30 a.m. to services Saturday.





OSSEO, Mich. - Shirley M. Chapin, 59, of Osseo, Mich., died Friday, Feb. 19, 2010, at her residence. Shirley's husband Ed, retired September 1, 2009, after a 40-year railroad career. Her son Tyler is also a railroad employee.



JASPER, Ind. — Regenia "Jeanie" M. Wagner, age 74, of Jasper, died at 10:15 A.M. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, in St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

She was born in Ireland, Ind., on Sept. 16, 1935, to Russell and Jewel (McCain) Murry. She married Jerome "Jerry" Wagner and he preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1975.

Surviving are 3 daughters, Mrs. Bo (Jenny) Hayes, Ireland, Ind., Courtney Wagner, Los Angeles, Calif., and Barbara Marie Wagner, Vincennes, Ind.; 4 sons, Gregg Wagner and his wife, Cathy, Mt. Vernon, Ind., Matt Wagner and his wife, Lisa, and Gene Wagner and his wife, Cathy, both of Celestine, Ind., and Neal Wagner and friend, Tommy Piscitello, Los Angeles, Calif.; 15 grandchildren, Jerry, Elizabeth, Laura (Billy) Thompson, Joseph, Dustin, Jillian, Adam, Angela, Matthew, Jared, Ethan, Mary Grace, Gianna, Gavin and Gretchen. Also surviving are 2 sisters, Hazel Gregory, Loogootee, Ind., and Helen Murry, Jasper, Ind.; and a brother, Bob Murry of Ireland, Ind.

Preceding her in death besides her husband is a daughter, Mary Burke, who died in 1996.

Jeanie Wagner retired from the Doty Insurance Agency where she worked as a receptionist for many years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland, Ireland Historical Society, Red Hat Society and the Ireland High School Class of 1953. She was a homemaker and retired from the Dotty Insurance Agency. Jeanie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, helping others, and going to yard sales.

Funeral services for Jeanie Wagner 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at St. Mary Catholic Church, burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Ireland. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. MARLENE J. PIERCE, 66, of Monroeville, Indiana died, Monday, December 28, 2009, 1:35 PM., at Parkview Hospital. Born in Adams County, she married Keith D. Pierce on July 2, 1966, in the Parkview Chapel. She was a member of East Liberty United Methodist Church in rural Monroeville. She was a homemaker and a former L.P.N. nurse at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne for several years. Surviving are husband, Keith D. Pierce of Monroeville; two sons, Leslie R. Pierce of Elk Grove, Calif. and Christopher K. (Kellie) Pierce of Monroeville; brother, James W. Gibson of Convoy, Ohio; three grandchildren, Kelsie Diglin, Madelyn and Lillian Pierce.
